The Service Experts Heating and Air Conditioning Corporate Office in Plano, TX was honored to give 324 pounds of food to Minnie’s Food Pantry, also located in Plano.
“Last September, I had the opportunity to get a group of colleagues to volunteer at Minnie’s and it was such an amazing experience,” said Amanda Wilson, Operations Specialist for Service Experts. “They go above and beyond providing food – they are a vital part of this community.”
Cheryl Jackson began Minnie’s Food Pantry as a way to honor her mother, Minnie Hawthorne-Ewing D.D., who spent many of her childhood years wondering if and where she would get her next meal. Not only does Minnie’s provide free healthy meals to families in need, they also hold classes to teach families how to incorporate the food they are given to cook healthy, long-lasting meals. They also offer resume assistance along with budgeting and job classes to help people get back on their feet.
Since each family receives around 50 pounds of food to last them a month, Service Experts was able to supply meals for six families for the month.
“Everyone was so thrilled that we had this food drive for them, and they even showed our group their amazing facility,” Wilson said.
