We are trudging through the last of the weeks of winter but we still have to have our furnaces, especially during cold nights. Nothing is worse than laying down at night and realizing your furnace won’t start up. If this happens to you, here are a couple things you can check yourself prior to calling Gordon's Service Experts Heating & Air Conditioning.
Check Air Filters
You should replace standard air filters every 30 days. If you fail to do so, they can become clogged, restricting air flow and resulting in your furnace malfunctioning.
Check Your Thermostat
Start by turning the thermostat up a few degrees to get the furnace to turn on. If the true room temperature is higher than the thermostat, the furnace won’t run. Also, confirm the system switch is on “heat” or “auto.”
Check the Power
It may seem ridiculous, but confirm the power switch next to the heating system is “On.” Even gas furnaces use electricity so verify the breaker has not tripped and that the power switch was not accidently flipped to the “Off” position.
If you check all these things and your heating system will still not start up, give Gordon's Service Experts Heating & Air Conditioning a call at 405-432-2197 and we’ll come out and get you taken care of as soon as possible.
