Here’s What to Do When Your Furnace Won’t Ignite
We are making our way through the last few weeks of winter but we still have to have our furnaces, especially during frigid nights. There’s not a lot that is worse than laying down at night just to realize your furnace won’t start up. If you find yourself in this situation, here are a couple things you can check yourself prior to calling Service Experts Heating & Air Conditioning.
Check Air Filters
You should change standard air filters each month. If you fail to do so, they can get clogged, restricting air flow and resulting in your furnace malfunctioning.
Check Your Thermostat
See if turning the temperature up a few degrees will get the furnace to turn on. If the actual room temperature is higher than the thermostat, the furnace won’t kick on. Also, confirm the system switch is on “heat” or “auto.”
Check the Power
It may seem ridiculous, but verify the power switch next to the heating system is “On.” Even gas furnaces use electricity so make sure the breaker has not tripped and that the power switch wasn’t accidently flipped to the “Off” position.
If you check all these things and your heating system will still not turn on, give Service Experts Heating & Air Conditioning a call at 954-736-4314 and we’ll come out and get you heating again as soon as possible.
